SKINS Teamwear Announces Partnership with Zoey Wright as Brand Ambassador

18 Jun 2019

SKINS UK (Teamwear and Retail) are delighted to announce a partnership with fitness model and vlogger, Zoey Wright.

In 2012 and at age 20, Zoey was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis whilst in her first term at University studying Sports Science. Zoey spent two years battling UC but when all treatments and medication failed her large intestine was removed and a stoma was formed in 2014, meaning Zoey would have to wear a ostomy bag.

Feeling deflated and out of control of her physicality, Zoey decided to take the situation and her health by the reigns. She started to channel her negative energy into weight training as a way of developing and strengthening her body. In 2015, ten months after her life changing surgery, Zoey stepped on stage and won first place in Body Transformation & figure. Fast forward to 2017 and she achieved her ultimate goal in being awarded the Overall Pro World Champion for Pure Elite – the fastest growing fitness modelling federation in Europe. Zoey has since dedicated herself to training and inspiring other people to believe in themselves when faced with adversity.

Fast forward to 2019 and Zoey is now recovering from her latest surgery, the formation of a J-pouch and removal of her stoma in April. On the road to recovery once again, Zoey is fighting to get back in action and SKINS Teamwear are pleased to accompany her on the journey.

Speaking of the appointment, Chad James, Director, said, ’We are delighted that Zoey Wright joins us as our newest ambassador. Zoey is a champion of great resilience and human character, she reflects the SKINS brand through her determination and she is a true Citizen of Sport. We’re excited to be working with Zoey and wish her every success with her recovery over coming months.”

Zoey Wright said, “Like SKINS, I want a world in which sport inspires society. From the point my Ileostomy bag was fitted I was given a label, restrictions and limitations. I wanted to prove my setbacks didn’t define me – to step on stage and not be ashamed of my condition, and in doing so inspire and motivate others. I’m delighted SKINS Teamwear are helping me achieve this further. We share a strong passion to have a positive impact on the world around us and look forward to the months ahead.”
